Oh wow, I can't believe we're almost coming up on one year. And I still miss Pownce (and don't spend enough time here - I probably need to go ban more spammers, seems like a month activity.)

Thanks for setting this up!

the year went by in high speed, but it was a loong time without pownce.

never thought a year could be the same at once: very long and very short.

Sigh. The nostalgia hit harder last week when I got the message that it was time to renew this domain. I can't believe it's a year already. And while most of us are connected on Twitter it's not the same. @blogkitten has started a QOTD on Twitter asking what one misses most. I miss the richer conversations we could have in those threaded discussions. The ability to embed media made it more useful, but it was the possibility of having the long conversations that made it really work.

I've made new friends on Twitter this year, but we've not connected as deeply as we did on Pownce, one just can't get to know people as quickly in 140 characters.

Google Wave is trying to give us some of the old Pownciness, but so far it's like a knock-off that sort of works but is still missing some pieces. It's still in beta so I don't blame it for that, but I wonder if the developers spent any time looking at Pownce or Motion. They might learn something from those.

I'll pop in and see if anyone brought any champagne...must do some Xmas shopping now.
Happy Holidays, everyone!
